Mid-Atlantic CBF 2025 Retreat

Connecting with God and Connecting with Each Other

It was a cold few days at the Hallowood retreat center. The pond was frozen.  The temperatures in the 20’s and wind chills in the single digits.  Inside, however, the fire was raging and warm.  A major snowstorm threatened our retreat but thankfully it stayed well to the south.  Holding a retreat in February is always a risk, but the timing always seems right for rest and renewal.  In-between the business of the new year and the seriousness of Lent, a few days of connecting with God and each other is greatly needed.

This year we were led by Dave Peppler from Peptalk Ministries.  Dave’s approach was to give us time to think, reflect and share around a series of questions.  How is it with your soul? Are we more than our title? What does Christ mean to you? In sitting with the questions, we were given time to create, have deep conversations and worship around the Lord’s table.  It was a deep and meaningful time.

Chaplains and clergy spend all their time pouring out to the people we love and serve.  I am grateful for the time to be filled. A time to connect with God. A time to connect with other clergy and a time to know I am not alone in this work.

Thank you for supporting our Chaplains and Clergy retreat!
