OUR PARTNERS
1. WELCOMING THE STRANGER
In Matthew 25:35 Jesus says I was a stranger and you welcomed me.
Mid-Atlantic CBF is passionate about the work of welcoming the Other and providing help for those who have been displaced from their homes. We partner with Lucha in Northern Virginia, Refuge and Hope in Uganda, and Persian World Outreach. In 2024 and 2025 we are exploring new partnerships with groups working on the southern border and advocating for immigrants and those displaced from their homes.
2. JUSTICE FORMATION
MACBF works with organizations like The Institute of Justice Formation and their sister organization, The Justice Formation Fellowship to bring justice education into seminaries and the local congregation.
We also work to provide seminars, civil rights tours and a peer learning group focused on racial justice to increase our understanding, empathy and knowledge of justice issues in our community and around the world.
3. THE GLOBAL CBF COMMUNITY
MACBF is part of the greater CBF Global Community.
Through our connection with CBF Global we have access to Congregational resources such as, reference and referral for clergy staffing, Bible study materials, mission education and direct connection with field personnel around the world. We also hold a collaborative partnership with CBF of Virginia and often connect with our northern neighbors, Fellowship North East.
MACBF PARTNERS
Lucha Ministries in Fredericksburg VA
We started partnering with Lucha Ministries after hearing from CBF Field Personnel Greg and Sue Smith during one of our annual gatherings. The Mid-Atlantic Region is full of people from all over the world and to be faithful to our calling we need to welcome the strangers among us. LUCHA Ministries, Inc., demonstrates the love of God towards immigrants by defending their rights, meeting social, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs, and by strengthening community engagement.
Refuge and Hope in Uganda
We have raised money for refugees in Uganda for many years. In 2017 a team from the Mid-Atlantic traveled to Uganda to experience the incredible work being done by CBF Field Personnel Jade and Shelah Acker through their ministry Refuge and Hope. Uganda has an open border. Which means anyone fleeing their home land due to war, famine or danger can come to Uganda and start over. Refuge and Hope welcomes refugees by offering programs that provide hope, empowerment and sustainability.
Persian World Outreach
Mich and Pat Tosen, the founders of Persian World Outreach have been partnering with MACBF for over 10 years. In that time they have started new churches, like the Persian Church of Herndon and helped us understand the beauty of the Persian community and its people.
Persian World Outreach is an indigenous mission reaching out to meet the physical and spiritual needs of Persian-speaking people (Afghans, Iranian & Tajik) worldwide. Methods we use are: Evangelism & Discipleship, Christian Leadership Training & Mobilization, Partnership and Networking, Persian Christian Resource Development and Distribution and Humanitarian Relief.
The Institute for Justice Formation
MACBF works with organizations like The Institute of Justice Formation and their sister organization, The Justice Formation Fellowship to bring justice education into seminaries and the local congregation. We also work to provide seminars, civil rights tours and a peer learning group focused on racial justice to increase our understanding, empathy and knowledge of justice issues in our community and around the world.
The Mission of The Institute for Justice Formation (IJF) is to establish enduring, robust relationships between religious and cultural institutions through a holistic program of Worship, Education, and Advocacy.
