MACBF’s October Clergy Lunch

Westwood Baptist Church hosted MACBF’s October Clergy Lunch, providing an excellent setting for fellowship and support among clergy. We are grateful for Westwood’s hospitality, which created a welcoming space for us to gather, share a meal, and connect with one another.

In addition to a complimentary lunch, MACBF’s Clergy Care team expressed their appreciation for clergy members by giving each participant an Amazon gift card. Executive Coordinator Sean Roberds shared his gratitude for the dedication and invaluable work of MACBF clergy, as well as the support and partnerships they bring to our Fellowship.

Kelly Adams, CBF’s Director of the Clergy Support Ecosystem, presented on her work with clergy cohorts, peer learning groups, and CBF’s focus on Thriving Congregations. Adams highlighted the five key traits of thriving congregations—Compelling Clarity, Faithful Agility, Holy Tenacity, Rooted Relationships, and Dynamic Collaboration—and explained how CBF is incorporating these traits into its efforts.

Following Adams' presentation, participants discussed various ideas and possibilities for clergy support. One recurring theme was the need for clergy groups tailored to different stages of ministry, such as groups for those approaching retirement and planning for their congregations’ next steps, as well as groups for young ministers navigating the early stages of their careers.

The October Clergy Lunch was organized by MACBF’s Clergy Care team, consisting of Chaplains Allison Anderson and Carita Brown, along with pastors Pam Moyer and Joby Tricquet.
